Markaz Launches ‘Layali Ramadan’ Campaign 2026

Calicut: Markazu Saquafathi Sunniyya has launched its Ramadan campaign titled Layali Ramadan, focusing on promoting spiritual awareness, moral responsibility, and social harmony during the holy month.

The campaign was inaugurated by H.E. Sheikh Abubakr Ahmad, Founder of Markaz and the Grand Mufti of India. Addressing the occasion, he emphasized the need to revive spiritual and ethical values in society, noting that many contemporary social challenges, including rising violence and substance abuse, are rooted in the decline of moral consciousness.

As part of the 30-day initiative, Markaz will roll out a broad spectrum of spiritual, educational, and social welfare activities across the country. Iftar gatherings will be organized at key locations such as cities, villages, mosques, hospitals, and public transport hubs. Essential aid, including food supplies, clothing, and educational materials, will be distributed, with beneficiaries including underprivileged communities, orphanages, and care institutions.

Markaz campuses in various states, along with alumni networks, will coordinate and lead the programs. At the Markaz Headquarters, daily iftar arrangements will be provided for approximately 1,500 people, including travelers and the general public.

A major highlight of the campaign will be the Badrul Kubra Spiritual Gathering on Ramadan 16 at Jamiul Futuh – The Indian Grand Masjid, located within Markaz Knowledge City. Additionally, during the odd nights of the last ten days of Ramadan, special spiritual assemblies, including Shadhuli Hadra, Quthubiyyath Majlis, Qadiriyyah Halaqa, and Khatmul Burda, will be held at Markaz Masjidul Hamil.

The campaign also features daily study and training sessions such as Qur’an recitation and Tajweed classes, remembrance gatherings, women’s study forums, and scholarly lectures. Every Friday after Jumu‘ah, religious discourses by prominent scholars from Kerala will be conducted. Special awareness classes covering Zakat, fasting jurisprudence, and Eid-related guidance have also been scheduled.

Special Ramadan prayers at Masjidul Hamil will be led by distinguished Qaris and Huffaz known for their expertise in Qur’anic recitation.

Markaz authorities stated that this year’s campaign aims to strengthen spiritual life, foster community well-being, and extend meaningful support to those in need.
