Markaz Unani Student Selected for Central Government Research Program

Muhammad Adil NK, a final-year BUMS student at Markaz Unani Medical College,
has been selected for the prestigious Studentship Program for Unani Research
(SPUR) conducted by the Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine
(CCRUM).
Adil’s research proposal, focusing on the Biodiversity
of the Western Ghats and the creation of a digital collection of Unani
medicinal plants, received approval from the council. The research will be
conducted under the Union Ministry of AYUSH, with CCRUM sanctioning a stipend
of ₹50,000 to support the project.
The achievement has been widely applauded
by the Markaz Unani Medical College Management, Staff Council, and Students
Union, who extended their congratulations to Adil. A native of Karekkad,
Valanchery, Adil's accomplishment highlights the institution’s commitment
to fostering excellence in Unani medical research.
