Sheikh Abubakr Ahmad’s Autobiography ‘Vishwasapoorvam’ Released
Thiruvananthapuram: The autobiography of the Grand Mufti of India, Sheikh Abubakr
Ahmad titled ‘Vishwasapoorvam’, was officially released at a grand
ceremony held at the Hayatt Regency in Thiruvananthapuram. Chief Minister Pinarayi
Vijayan formally launched the book by handing over the first copy to Member
of Parliament Shri Shashi Tharoor.
Speaking at the event, Chief Minister
Pinarayi Vijayan praised Sheikh Abubakr Ahmad's unwavering commitment to
imparting true religious values to the community. He emphasized that while
religion can be used for both progress and regression, Sheikh has consistently
leveraged it for societal upliftment. Referring to the autobiography, the Chief
Minister stated that His life journey highlights the importance of prioritizing
development, especially in times when vested interests oppose progress. He also
acknowledged Sheikh's steadfast stance in navigating Kerala’s socio-political
landscape.
The book is published by Malabar
Foundation for Research and Development, a research initiative based at Markaz
Knowledge City, and is distributed by Reed Press, Kozhikode. The
release ceremony was presided over by Sayyed Ali Bafaqi, Vice President
of Samastha Kerala Jamiyyathul Ulama. The introductory speech was
delivered by SYS State Secretary Dr. Muhammad Abdul Hakkim Azhari.
