UAE Fatwa Council Conference Opens in Abu Dhabi; Abdullah Saquafi Represents Sheikh Abubakr Ahmad
Calicut: The third international conference organized by the UAE Council for Fatwa commenced in Abu Dhabi under the theme “The Family in the Context of Real-World Jurisprudence: National Identity and a Cohesive Society” Representing the Indian Grand Mufti and Founder of Markaz, His Eminence Sheikh Abubakr Ahmad, Abdullah Saquafi Malayamma, Dean of Jamia Markaz College of Islamic Theology, is participating in the conference.
The conference is being held under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, in the context of the UAE observing 2026 as the Year of the Family.
Muftis, scholars, researchers, and heads of Islamic universities from 57 countries are attending the event. The Grand Mufti of India and Founder of Markaz, Sheikh Abubakr Ahmad, is a regular invitee to the religious deliberations of the UAE Fatwa Authority.
The conference aims to highlight the importance of the family amid rapidly changing social conditions and to present religious perspectives and solutions to contemporary challenges faced by families. The program features discussions and paper presentations on various related topics. Abdullah Saquafi Malayamma will present the message of the Sheikh Abubakr Ahmad at the conference.
Najmudheen Kamil Saquafi Pandikkad, Publication Editor of the Markaz Research Department, is also participating in the conference as a representative.
