Sheikh Abubakr Foundation, Spark Connect Fellows Meet: A Confluence of Talent and Opportunity


KOZHIKODE: The Spark Connect Fellows Meet, organised by the Sheikh Abubakar Foundation, became a vibrant confluence of talent as it honoured the selected students from the foundation's talent hunt examination. Over 10,000 students from various states in India and abroad participated in the scholarship examination, which was conducted at more than 100 centres. Of these, 201 students were selected through interviews and were bestowed with the title of ‘Sheikh Abubakar Foundation Fellows.’ Held at Valencia Galleria in Markaz Knowledge City, the event recognised 82 students from Kerala, deemed worthy of scholarships for their exceptional academic promise.

The talent hunt, organised by the Sheikh Abubakar Foundation under Markaz Sakhafatu Sunniyya, in the name of the Grand Mufti of India, Sheikh Abubakr Ahmad aims to identify and support promising students from the 8th standard onwards by assisting with higher education. Over 10,000 students from across India and abroad participated in the scholarship examination, which was conducted at more than 100 centres. Of these, 201 students were selected through interviews and were bestowed with the title of ‘Sheikh Abubakar Foundation Fellows.’ The fellowship programs for students from other states will be held at various locations across the country in the coming months.

Addressing the gathering, Sheikh Abubakr Ahmad, the Grand Mufti of India and Founder of Markaz Institutions extended his blessings to the students. He reaffirmed Markaz’s commitment to helping bright students achieve their dreams, irrespective of caste, creed, or colour. The event also featured a vision talk by Dr A.P. Muhammad Abdul Hakkim Azhari, Chairman of the Sheikh Abubakar Foundation, and a keynote address by Dr Abdul Salam, CEO of Markaz Knowledge City.

The Chief Administrative Officer of Markaz Knowledge City, Adv. Tanveer Omar, delivered the welcome address, while the Chief Operating Officer of the Sheikh Abubakar Foundation, Muhammad Fazal, oriented the students about the scholarship. The event concluded with the distribution of certificates and a mentor-mentee interaction. PTM School, Kodiathunnoor, was specially recognised for having the highest number of successful candidates. Teachers, parents, students, and officials from the foundation participated in the event.
