Calicut: Prominent Islamic Scholar, Orator and senior Islamic Professor Ustad Kanthapuram A.P Muhammed Musliyar passed away at 72. He led the positions as Samasta Kerala Jamiatul Ulama Secretary, Markaz Vice President, and Senior Professor and Qadi of many Jumua Masjids in the Calicut district.
He was a man of authentic wisdom in Islamic Jurisprudence and a good speaker and debater in the Kerala Sunni Muslim World.
Kanthapuram A.P Muhammed Musliyar was the prime and best student of Kanthapuram A.P Abubakr Musliyar, and they had an undistinguishable similarity in name, figure, posture and speech. He graduated in Islamic Knowledge from Vellore Bakhiyat and served as an Islamic teacher in an Islamic seminary at Kanthapuram for three and a half decades. He has been serving as the senior professor at Jamia Markaz since 2007.
The Janaza Namaz for A P Muhammed Musliyar has held at Markaz Masjidul Hamil today at 10: 00 am. Markaz President Sayyed Ali Bafakhi led the prayers, and Kerala Muslim Jamath General Secretary Sayyed Ibrahim Khalil Bukhari directed the Janaza Namaz. Various scholars, Sadat's, Students and thousands of people gathered in the Namaz and prayers.
He was buried at the graveyard of Karuvampoyil Jumua Masjid on Sunday evening in his home town. Samstha Kerala Mushavara Members, Sayyids, Politicians and thousands of people gathered at his funeral ceremony.
Grand Mufti of India and Chancellor Sheikh Abubakr Ahmad, said in a condolence message that a scholar who did excellent services in the field of Islamic knowledge had been lost with the death of Muhammad Musliar.
