"Ethics and Constitution Upheld at Sheikh Zayed Fifth International Peace Conference of Jamia Markaz


Calicut: The Sheikh Zayed Fifth International Peace Conference concluded successfully in Kerala with the theme "Ethical Human, Peaceful World". The conference was held as part of the Jamia Markaz Convocation in Calicut, Kerala, India. The event was attended by key political, cultural, and social figures, intellectuals, academics, and officials from Arab and Islamic countries. The one-day conference took place amid exceptional circumstances witnessed globally, including natural calamities, wars, and ethnic and sectarian tensions. The need for further cooperation to achieve stability and security was emphasized.

The conference was inaugurated by Gingee K.S. Masthan, Minister of Minorities Welfare, Govt of Tamil Nadu, who urged attendees to be ethical beings by upholding the Constitution, which embodies India's diverse heritage and culture. The event was attended by several distinguished personalities, including Haji Yunus Brunei, Managing Director of Bismi Business Group, Dr. Razaq bin Idrees, Correspondent of the President of Malaysia, and S. Haja Mohideen Gisthi, Special Public Prosecutor for Customs, Tamil Nadu, among others. The conference was made more delightful by the presence of differently-abled students of Asman Centre for Happiness.

Sheikh Abu Bakr Ahmad's message emphasized the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan's focus on human resource development and the deepening of values such as tolerance and dialogue in the face of advocates of confrontation and conflict in the name of religion. He announced that, "Jamia Markaz will held a prayer Conference in the name of Sheikh Zayed by upcoming month Ramadan from Jamia Al Futuh, Markaz Knowledge City." He also commended the support of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, hailing the efforts of their Highnesses the Rulers of the Emirates and expressing his appreciation for their humanitarian and charitable stances. 

The Former Opposition Leader, Ramesh Chennithala, stressed the need for cooperation and love among all and highlighted the secular foundation of our country. He emphasized that it is the majority's responsibility to protect minorities during these challenging times. He further pointed out that despite Muslim rulers having ruled India for a long time, they did not attempt to make the country an Islamic state. He also highlighted that institutions like Jamia Markaz and Kanthapuram promote the message of peace and tranquillity that Islam propagates not only in India but also around the world.

During the conference's closing session, C.Muhammed Faizi, Director General of Jamia Markaz, presented tokens of love to all dignitaries and gave an overview of how Markaz shapes a culture by promoting peace and tolerance in the modern world.
